CTC has helped state, local, and Tribal governments and utilities capitalize on funding opportunities for more than 15 years, developing deep experience with federal, state, and regional grant programs.
Our funding strategies team monitors existing and emerging programs, funding allocations, and application requirements to identify opportunities that align with clients’ broadband plans.
We provide end-to-end support throughout the grant application process, beginning with strategic planning and extending through application development and award. Our approach starts with helping clients refine and finalize project concepts to make them suitable for competitive applications—ensuring projects can be deployed quickly, align with the grant’s intent, and have budgets within appropriate ranges.
CTC develops customized checklists of required project documentation and application requirements to streamline the process and enable efficient collaboration. The funding team writes application narratives strategically positioned to maximize the chances of successful funding, working methodically through application requirements to describe proposed projects, their potential impact, and community benefits.
Multi-disciplinary grant writing support
CTC brings a multi-disciplinary team approach to preparing grant applications. For example, depending on the grant application requirements, our GIS team prepares maps of eligible unserved and underserved geographic areas, while engineers design networks and estimate construction costs for building in those eligible areas. Our business team prepares financial models and conducts market research to support revenue projections when required.
CTC also creates draft project budgets based on capital and operating cost estimates and identified matching fund sources. Following application submission, we provide due diligence support through award determination, answering questions posed by funding agencies and addressing requests during evaluation.
This comprehensive approach serves state, local, and Tribal governments, as well as cooperative and municipal utilities, enabling each client type to effectively compete for broadband funding opportunities.
